I have this box here filled with earth and I dig out the forms for the pieces. Then I pour concrete into the negative space in the earth, and drip pigment directly onto the fresh concrete. After that, I cover it all with earth and let it dry for one or two days before I can dig out the sculpture and see what it looks like.
