Over the past several years, Aitken has designed her sculptures according to a strict three-dimensional framework consisting of forty-five and ninety-degree angles, and corresponding segments of cylinders. These restrictions help generate the visual vocabulary that she uses to explore the body’s relationship to architectural space.
